"Prelude to Descent," the latest album from FKAjazz, is part one of a three-part series called the TV Box Saga. The full album is now available exclusively at omgjazz.com until November 7, 2025 and partially available on streaming platforms.
WHAT IS “PRELUDE TO DESCENT ABOUT?
Prelude to Descent is a reflection on the struggle between individual freedom and institutional control. As the opening chapter of The TV Box Saga, it lays the foundation for a larger narrative about courage, resistance, and the power of choice in the face of overwhelming systemic pressure.
Building on the groundwork of our first full project, Fearless: An OMGjazz Ninja Saga, the music and story expands the boundaries of both musical genre and storytelling, weaving an Afro-futurist meditation on freedom, control, and survival in our increasingly complex world.
With Sachcoo’s visual art amplifying the sonic landscape, Prelude to Descent offers a multi-sensory experience—inviting you to reflect on your relationship with technology, authority, and the human capacity to resist forces that seek to reshape our society.

At OMGjazz, we’re not just blending jazz and electronica—we’re building jazztronica into a living, breathing movement that connects sound, art, and storytelling.
Our mission is to channel the spirit of freedom and experimentation that powered the free jazz movement of the 1950s and 1960s, and reimagine it for today’s world. Through immersive performances, original compositions, and multimedia experiences, we weave improvisation and innovation, bridging the past and the future. For us, technology is more than a tool—it’s a gateway. A gateway to new sonic landscapes, to deeper forms of expression, and to storytelling that resonates across cultures. By embracing it, we honor our roots while pushing the boundaries of what contemporary music and art can become.

RECAP FROM OUR First MULTIMEDIA RELEASE PARTY
On Saturday, April 27th the team at OMGjazz put on its first Multimedia Release Party for “Fearless: An OMGjazz Ninja Saga.” The first of many story collections to be released by OMGjazz, the event was a mixture of an art show, live musical performances and live podcast interview. Through these events OMGjazz is committed to building community and uplifting culture centered on music, art & storytelling.
